life, the universe, and everything!

I'm a nerd, a college student, a writer, and a hopeless romantic. I'm an English major and a Harry Potter fanatic. I'm obsessed with the Beatles and think Bella Swan is pathetic. I'm a runner too, but a lot of people don't seem to know that an artsy nerd and an athlete can inhabit the same body. But that's the beauty of life....nothing is ever as it seems :)

Ask away!

Submit, damn it!
This might sound strange, but I really want a tattoo of this cicada. I have several reasons. I love cicadas, despite the fact that they’re kind of scary looking and are loud as hell, I think the story of a cicada’s life is beautiful. They’re underground for 17 years, then when they come above ground, they are alive for only one day. They make a lot of noise, mate, then die. I want to get it because I think it’s like a metaphor for life, like you should live your life to the fullest while you can because life is short. The first long story I ever wrote (it’s still not finished, actually, I may rewrite it again) was called Cicada and I used that as the central metaphor. And, to top it all off, it’s kind of a reflection of my own life because it wasn’t until I was 17 years old that I actually started coming out of my shell and living life to the fullest. True story. Soooo I think those are pretty legit reasons. I want it. Tattooed on my skin. Forever.
